ROOFTOP RITUALS

v

FORETELLING AND STORYTELLING

I have discovered that many feel the same way about their connection to the sky as I do.

The most diverse people would gather on the rooftop to discuss philosophy and literature, to tell stories of their lives, to make Tarot readings--there are Cultural Centers on every street, so why then do so many come after work all the way from Uptown?

Serendipity On The Rooftop never proposed 'events' or organised entertaintment of any kind. It let people entertain each other without any plans or preparations, and so they did. Moreover, the anomality of being severed from the sky was absent in this case. Rather than have a video camera observe us from the corner, we had stars peek at us with curiosity.

Added to that was the element of unpredictability. One never knew exactly what to expect, who would join us, or what would be the topic of our conversation.
